In this section, we will provide information about what personal data we collect about you and for what purposes.

We only collect and process information about you in accordance with the Data Protection Regulation 2016/679 of the European Parliament, and of the Council of 27 April 2016 (“Data Protection Regulation”) and associated legal acts, as well as national legislation, derived therefrom (“Data Protection Legislation”).

ThaiLawBuddy is the data controller for the personal data we collect to give you access to and to be able to offer you the service, fulfill your requests, optimize the website, and to be able to market our and our partners’ products and services for you. We are not responsible for the personal data that you yourself choose to upload to the service or for the information contained in your communication with lawyers and other third parties.

The information you pass on via the service or otherwise to lawyers etc., the lawyers hereafter become the data controller.

What information we collect about you, for what purposes, and on what legal basis.

When you visit www.thailawbuddy.com, we automatically collect information about you and your website use. This is e.g. information about the type of browser you use and information about your computer, your IP address, and information about how you use the website, which pages you visit and which links you click on, your traffic to and from the service, referral URL address, advertising data, standard web log information and information collected via cookies, web beacons and similar technologies, etc. The aim is to optimize the user experience, and the site’s function as well as carry out targeted marketing. This processing of information is necessary so that we can keep improving our site and showing you relevant offers. The legal basis for the processing is the Data Protection Regulation, art. 6, subsection 1, letter f.

When you sign up for our newsletter, we collect information about your name and email address, and we register that you have asked us to send newsletters with marketing from our business partners and us. The purpose is to comply with your request and to safeguard our interest in being able to deliver newsletters to you. The legal basis for the processing is the Data Protection Regulation, art. 6, subsection 1, letter f.

When you use our legal robot, we ask you to provide a range of basic information, including your name, address, e-mail, and telephone. You cannot finish the legal robot without providing us with this information. The type of information and the extent of the information that we collect about you will depend on how much personal information you fill out when you use our legal robot. The legal basis for the processing is the Data Protection Regulation, art. 6, subsection 1, letter b.

When you request a quote for a lawyer, information about your contact information and the task you want a quote for is made available to the associated lawyer so that they can assess the task and possibly submit an offer. Your contact information will only be passed on to lawyers if you accept this by using our legal robot. The lawyer will then be able to contact you via your provided e-mail and telephone number. The legal basis for the processing is the Data Protection Regulation, art. 6, subsection 1, letter b.

When you communicate with us, including via email, phone, or chat, we collect the information that you choose to give us and the advice or assistance that you want. The purpose is to be able to communicate with you and comply with your requests. The legal basis for the processing is the Data Protection Regulation, art. 6, subsection 1, letter b.

Disclosure of your information

We only pass on your personal data to other data controllers to the extent described in these conditions. In addition, personal data will not be passed on without your express consent unless we are obliged to do so by law or other legal obligation incumbents upon us, or if legal claims must be established, asserted, or defended.

Information can be left to external partners who process the information on our behalf. We use external partners for, e.g. technical operation, maintenance and improvements of the service, sending newsletters, and targeted marketing. These companies are data processors under our instructions and process data for which we are the data controller. The data processors must not use the information for any purpose other than fulfilling the agreement with us and are subject to confidentiality. We have entered into written data processing agreements with all data processors who process personal data on our behalf.

The companies in question have taken the necessary technical and organizational security measures against information being accidentally or illegally destroyed, lost, or damaged, as well as against it coming to the knowledge of unauthorized persons, being misused or otherwise processed in breach of Data Protection legislation or breach of our instructions.

Your rights

In order to create transparency around the processing of your information, we, as the data controller, must inform you of your rights.

Right of access

You are entitled at any time to request insight into our processing of your personal data, including which categories of information we have registered about you, what purpose the processing serves, categories of recipients of information, etc. You have the right to be provided with a copy of the personal data we process about you. If you have other questions or want more insight, you must send a written request to office@thailawbuddy.com. You may be asked to document that you are whom you say you are.

Right to rectification

You have the right to have incorrect personal data about yourself corrected by us. If you become aware that there are errors in the information we have registered about you, you are encouraged to contact us in writing so that the information can be corrected. The right to erasure

In certain cases, you have the right to have all or some of your personal data deleted by us, for example, if you revoke consent and we have no other legal basis to continue the processing. To the extent that continued processing of your information is necessary, e.g. in order for us to comply with our legal obligations or for legal claims to be established, asserted, or defended, we are not obliged to delete your personal data.

The right to restrict processing to storage

In certain cases, you have the right to have the processing of your personal data limited to storage only, e.g. if you believe the information we process about you is incorrect.

The right to object

You have the right at any time to object to our processing of your personal data for the purpose of direct marketing, including the profiling that is carried out in order to be able to target our direct marketing.

You also have the right at any time, for reasons relating to your personal situation, to object to that processing of your personal data, which we do on the basis of our legitimate interests.

The right to withdraw consent

You have the right at any time to revoke a consent you have given us for a given processing of personal data.

The right to complain

If you wish to make use of one or more of your rights, please contact us at office@thailawbuddy.com. However, we reserve the right to reject inquiries that are obviously groundless or excessive, especially because they are repeated, and we may also condition the response to a reasonable fee.

Deletion of information

Information collected about your use of our site is deleted at the latest when you have not visited the website for 5 years. Information is stored for 5 years, as intervals between visits by a lawyer can be up to or more than 5 years, and this is, therefore a prerequisite for our service to function as intended.

Information collected in connection with your subscription to the newsletter is deleted when your consent to the newsletter is withdrawn.

Deletion of your personal data
